Thank you, I thought I'd put an update in. The Mom ducks were sisters from the same hatch, when I put them together there was some mild pecking order stuff at first then things settled down. The Mom with the later chicks moved into the dog crate with the earlier Mom instead of using the other...
My pen for the Mom and ducklings is 4 feet by 12 feet and today another Mom with 5 ducklings now needs a mongoose proof place for herself and her ducklings. Had planned another place for her but thought I had 2 more days to hatching. If you have experience with this please tell me.
Yes, there are 2 other neighbors that we share responsibilities with for pet/farm animal care so we are able to have vacations as can they. And all the cats and dogs and poultry are happier to be taken care of at their own homes.
