Lost our beautiful Blondie today. She was old and seemed to be not seeing out of one eye, but happy and eating and drinking she had a good day yesterday, then passed some time mid morning. She was such a sweet girl.
Thank you both. It was a light colored egg and after reading some candling threads on here it was easy to see it was an early quitter I believe its called. No chick. But she got two out of three and they are doing great so I'm happy. Thanks again @Willow2253 and @Kiki
Thanks for the info. I've not had luck candling. I just have my phone or regular flashlight and only tried it a couple times. Ill do some research and try it.
3 eggs under broody hen. First one hatched 3 days ago (I posted) the next on the next morning. The last one hasn't hatched yet. It was laid 9/24 same as the other two. Momma is still laying on it and keeping eye on her chicks (they are closed off from flock). I think I'm just being impatient, is...
As far as I know, they were laid same day or day after and I have a rooster. All eggs I've cooked have been fertilized. I didnt candle eggs, just letting nature take its course. So far so good.
