    thanks for sharing, you winter feed looks delicious. Our provinces capital is a large city about 4 hours away and we tend to go 2 to 3 times a year for things. We do have a Walmart (not a large one lol) and a few other chain stores about 30 mins away.

    Symptoms of sour crop can include: A squishy, swollen crop. Lethargy. Lack of appetite. Weight loss. Sour, disgusting-smelling breath. Liquid or gas exiting the beak, particularly if you gently touch the crop. White patches in the mouth.

    Hey friends. This may be a dumb question and I feel I know the answer but are black oil sunflower seeds for wild birds from walmart acceptable to feed to chickens ?

    Thanks for the replies everyone. We do feed them pellets. But we also feed fruits and greens. But now I think it may be the dry pellets and the length of time overnight before they drink in the morning

    Thank you. They do have two water stations and use them both equally but you’d swear I put champagne in this one the way they flocked to it and not the other one. lol.

    We officially have 7 of 9 layers now. Our two brown bovans have laid today. Our last two which are black bovans I believe are younger than we were told and I suspect they may start laying in a few weeks.     we live on an island with a large area of woodland, we can take them out on a logging road and they would see a residence ever again.or at least their would be a slim chance that they would.

    See those baby raccoon's in the pic. They are just a hair smaller than my terrier. and i'm pretty sure my terrier would play with them and then invite them in to share her kibble lol

    They have moved on down the way, but my brother is getting a live trap for us and if we hear of them moving back towards us, ill set it up and relocate them. Thanks for the reply
