    5 day old chick doesn’t want to lay down

    We just brought home some baby chicks last night. One seems to not want to lay down, not that active but has drank, just not 100% if he has eaten. Any clue why she’s not laying down ? Something hurt ? Thanks !

    How close for the heating lamp ?

    Bringing home baby new chicks and we are using a heating bulb. I’ve attached pictures but if keeping the bulb above the mesh top (to be done today) will that be too cold for the chicks ? Not sure how close to the bottom to position the heat lamp. The tub is 13” high. Thanks in advance y’all !!

    No old sheds unfortunately, I was thinking on the clean up to convert the large back opening to some sort of lift open door or something and have that as the clean up area. Or would I still be needing to kind of crawl in there to clean it out on a weekly basis do you think ? If I have to crawl...

    Thank you so much ! I am going to look at those nest box options now because yup I was thinking flip up. Thanks ! About how much do you think the add ons will run ? If you had a general idea ? If it stays under $300- $400 we’d be ok.

    Most of the other plans we saw the materials were at least $700 … if you want to share some ideas for a $300 chicken coop I am allllll ears 🙏

    They’re asking $400 but we don’t think we will go over $300. It’s actually coming dis-assembled. Perhaps that will be easier ? Or should we just start from scratch ?😂 Again it looked like a great base, but I don’t know what I’m doing. Thanks !
