    Don't know what " shrink wrapping" is with chicks but I just picked mine up and put them over into a warm brooder.

    I'm right there with you. Just finished hatching out 9 chicks and what an experience! I'm a retired fire fighter and I haven't had an adrenalin rush like that since I retired! Good luck and have fun.

    Starting over!

    Thanks for all the kind comments and prayers. I've already repaired one small coop and run for the cinnamon queens and have the silkies in another tee-pee type pen. Already getting eggs so I guess the moving didn't stress them too much. Hoping ins will pay off and can build nice coop&run.
  5. This 1 gal feeder took about 30 minutes to make. A coffee can, a pie plate and 3 cotter pins. I saved the lid of the coffee can and used a handle off an old paint can. Small but free if you got the stuff laying around.

    These were bought as cinnamon queen chickens. they are great egg layers with big brown eggs.

    Saved 3 of 4 hens and rooster. Having to go through ins claim for tree removal and replacement of coop and run. Who knows, may have been blessing in disguise!
