First thing you should do is dip their beaks in water. They'll be fine, haven't had any issues with shipped chicks and I too live in WA. Give your post office a heads up since they don't typically deliver chicks to a residence.
We got goats for clearing as well. Not as good as advertised. They're picky and only seem to like leaves and the dead stuff. BlackBerry bushes, forget about, just eat the leaves.
Better to get a couple of pigs, they'll eat ALL and even uproot the stuff. Taste great too!
Make sure it's their only water supply available. Physically dipping their beaks in water (or to the nipple) always seems to help as well. Once they know it's their only source of water, they'll use it. May get stubborn but will eventually be forced to use it.
Thanks to you and Michael, appreciate your knowledge. As for being able to sex them at hatching, that's not a concern of mine (should've mentioned that). I just wanted to know what I'd likely get. I know what I'll get with him and the other breeds I have but was curious when they hatched...
