I agree that today was beautiful. My chickens are still fairly young and today was the first time I had let them out free ranging. They loved every minute of it, and they all came faithfully back.
You could always switch to a crumble or a pellet as opposed to the mash. I know when I used mash for a short period they seemed to waste more for sure as opposed to the crumble.
I am just north of you I live in Bellville. Out of curiosity, where do you get your feed from? I've got TSC not too far and they have the DuMor brand which is I believe 16% protein and I've got a local feed mill that has 15%. I was looking for something with a little more protein.

You have to be careful when putting venting on your dryer. Look at what the manufacturer specifies for length. If your under that you could always pull the part off the outside of your house and run some vent piping on the outside of your house around the corner and vent it over there.
