We have four two-week-old chicks in a brooder. One of the EEs is picking fights with the other chicks. This chick is a little whinier than the others, but we blame that on its momma. Any idea why this chick would be picking on its hatch mates already?

We're in NW Ohio; last winter was brutal.. We used straw in the coop (hate it), so I'm looking for alternatives. I've read that sand is good and bad during winter. Anyone else have experience with this?
I have a shed (10x12x8h) at I am converting to a henhouse, and would like to save some room for 2 Nigerian dwarf goats. I plan on separating them with hardware cloth or chicken wife. Interested to see how your's is progressing.
