Hello! In a month or so, I am relocating from WV to Spokane. I was very fortunate that the buyer of my house in WV wants my hens, and that the place I'm buying in Spokane has a coop!! I'm used to buying food and other supplies at Tractor Supply in WV. Where do I go for chicks, feed and other...
That sounds like great advice! My dog isn't outside much anyway, usually just long enough to go to the bathroom in the fenced backyard and then come back inside. I do have a cat who likes to hunt and eat what he catches, so I probably should always keep the hens in the coop (I'm supposed to...
Where would be a better place to get chicks? I'm may make my first chick order my first in the Fall, and I would be devastated if some arrived dead. If I can find a place near me to buy some, I will do that, but I would like a nice assortment of breeds. I'm only allowed six hens where I live...
Thanks! I am moving sometime in the next couple of months, so the coop will be a project at the new house. I plan to have done by early Fall so I can put hens in it before it gets very cold. tbiM20, what part of Charleston are you in? I'm in the East End.

I'm starting a backyard coop under my city's new urban farming law, and I'm thinking about getting gamefowl hens (I'm not allowed to have roosters). They seem to be more difficult to buy than most breeds. Does anyone have suggestions for me? I don't need show quality, but I don't want badly...
I am thinking about getting some american game hens for a backyard coop, but I have no idea where to find them. They don't have to be show quality. Does anyone have suggestions?
Thanks!

I have no idea where to find them, though. They seem to be a lot more difficult to find than the popular laying hens. I've looked online and haven't had any luck so far.
