    Help me convince DH to keep a roo

    The purely anecdotal..but my experience has this been: when I hand raise a straight run that turns out to be a rooster, they are are COMPLETE JERKS but the ones the hen raised are perfect, shy with us but gentle with the girls..so maybe yours will be fine 😊

    I had two rooster brothers that were too hard on the rest of the flock..I put them in with the goats and they are fine and happy..one assumes the role of rooster(calling when he finds food and alarming) the other nests in their box and calls the partner over ..

    My roosters (3) were all raised together, but two of them are really mean to the hens, so I've isolated them to a separate run..so they have each other..but what would settle them down towards the hens so I could run them all together? I have around 35 ..

    Rattling breathing in brooding hen

    I could really use some expert advice! I've only had this hen for three days and she is hatching eggs, so I'm not taking her anywhere..but she rattles horribly while mouth breathing. There is no discharge or wateryeyes, so I'mwondering if it's gapeworm? I'm in NW Oregon..is that common here...
