    17 week old wattles uneven?

My chocolate Orpington- Brigid Polpetta - is not laying yet- if I remember correctly she has a ways before laying- but I have noticed one side of her wattles looks almost shriveled ?? They have been bright red for a few weeks. The texture doesn't feel any different from the other side (and...

How did your flock annoy you today?

I have to wrap anything I don’t want them eatting and we took to calling our tomatoe bed “bacon plants” when we had my EE who was tomatoe crazy. Fiona absolutely loved them and would come running when anyone said the “T” word 😂

Pullet or Cockerel? 12 week Chocolate Orpington

Can this Chocolate Orpington have that weird feather gene where it looks like the feathers are curled? Or am I seeing saddle feathers? I’ve told Brigid 14million times she will break my heart if she’s a boy … 12 weeks old …

    California Free Rehomings

San Francisco Peninsula 7 Week Old Gold Sex Link Cockerel looking for a home where he can do roostery things. Gentle and used to being handled - already very watchful of his sisters. Hatched July 23, 2025.

    Still hope for Pullet??

5 Weeks old. Gold Sex Link bought from feed store and was decidedly darker (2 days post hatch) with a gold U shape on butt. Now, the comb and wattles seem to have popped overnight and are a dark rosy pink. Much more light yellow feathering than my presumably female Buff Orpington. Is there...

    black sex link chicks

My 3 week old is quite similar. Slowly feathering and bald back with a couple of bald knobs. I think they just feather really slow.

What is this boney protrusion on chick?

My 3week old Black Sex Link has these boney looking protrusions on the top of her wings - is this normal? She’s a sweet little thing - loves to snuggle but doesn’t act like anything is hurting. I’ve not seen it on any other chicks before - but maybe it’s just the contrast of light skin and...

    Lost toenail ? Injury question.

I noticed My 4 month old EE “flamingoing” last week and inspected her feet. Looks like she lost a toenail and just the quick keeps getting bumped and then will bleed. I’ve been cleaning it up and using quikstop gel and vetericyn - I opted not to bandage it originally because I thought it would...

Best way to rehome 2 roosters?

Unfortunately, two of my chicks that I got this last spring are crowing and I cannot keep them. I have inquired if my local vet has a bulletin board or a share service for locals in the area that may want to be adding two young cockerels. I have posted locally on Nextdoor. And in a local’ish...

13w won’t stay out of the Hen feed.

I am currently integrating my 13 week olds in with my two-year old hens. While the two groups have their own coops, when they are free ranging during the daytime the little girls seem to have a fascination with getting into the big girl feed in the big girl run, which is a layer feed of course...

    Lavender Wyandotte Comb?

😂 I already have 2 sweet boys that I’m looking for homes for. I swear there’s a larger-than-normal amount of boys hatched this spring. Boys everywhere!

    Lavender Wyandotte Comb?

I have wondered too. The sign on the pens said lavender Wyandotte but the sign up front of the store said lavender Orpingtons … sooo? She’s such a big girl though - 3.5 lbs at 13 weeks - she’s bigger than both my boys.
