With the nasty weather here recently, we have left the coop door open for ventilation. It’s been down in the 70s and humid at night.
Now, however, it’s going to fall into the upper 50s tonight.
Will they be okay with the coop door open, for at least one night at any rate?
I was digging up grubs for my pullets, and the bold one who is always right there, grabbed an air soft bb and went right down the hatch before I could stop her.
The bb’s are about 6mm and inert plastic.
She doesn’t appear in any distress. Is this something that is likely to pass?
My wife and I just inherited three laying chickens. We already do a lot of gardening, so hopefully this will work out well. Also inherited a second-hand coop, which I scrubbed out in preparation.
