I use insecticidal soap. I take 1 tablespoon of Ivory Snow laundry detergent and add it to 1 gallon of water. I spray my veggies once per week and it works awesome for aphids. I've done this for a year and a half.

We lovingly call ours Redrun... a play off of "Redrum" from the shining. My wife and I are a bit on the odd side and with the coop being red, a production red, and well just being odd... we thought that the name fit. I have yet to make a sign.
Tractor Supply carries hog rings locally (In Dallas,TX). Most feed stores will also carry them. I used a box or two making a run for my chicks. Using wire would have been cheaper, but the hog rings were much easier to install.
Typically you put tar paper underneath it then metal drip edge around the perimeter to help as a moisture barrier. However, if you've adequately laid your shingles (first row reversed and then overlain with the first row right) then there shouldn't be any leaks to contribute to moisture. The...
I just finshed our coop last weekend and we put our 5 week old girls in it. We're letting them free range the back yard. To our suprise on the second day out, the went into the coop on their own at the end of the day. Even more shocking they did it the second day. We've got 7 pullets and...

I designed it using photos of other coops and ideas from several things. I put in a removable floor so it could be hardware wire...
Our chicks came from Ideal and they're an average of 164 grams (136 min, 195 max) at 22 days old. So far no pastey butts, no sick chicks, and a good growth rate. Ours arrived at Roach Seed and Feed (garland, TX) and we picked them up right after they arrived.
Well, depending on the size of the coop and air flow capacity, you might consider some of the solar powered attic fans, can get anywhere from 1000 cfm to 25 meter per hour fans for a range of prices. Depending on the venting that could make for a good airflow during the peak daylight hours.
We bought ours from a local feed store that obtains their chicks from Ideal. They seem to be doing well. 3 bluffs, 3 americanas, and 1 production red. They're about 10 days old now.
