    Kill mites with heat?

Question, I cleaned all the wood chips out of my coop and put them in sealed garbage bags in the sun. Will this kill ALL the mites? It's been in the 90s here, ad the bags have been out there for a month. Anyone do this?

    Flakey skin on face?

My silkie, Aster, goes broody often. I notice she gets this white buildup around her face and her eyes get puffy and irritated if she stays in the coop too long. Any thoughts on what it is and how to treat? I do treat for mites 2xs year. Should I try vetrx?

How many Ducks does everyone have.

I have: 2 Welsh harlequins, who I adore 2 miniature silver appleyards who are adorable! Wish I had room for a proper pond for them. I had no idea I would get so attached.

New Rooster crow dampening, noise reducing device

If it's more humane than a collar I'm in. My cross beak roo wears a collar and comes in with me at night. Otherwise he's be in someone's pot. I'd pay any price if it allowed me to take off his collar and still keep him.

    Silencing a rooster

I've had to do the same thing with my crossbeak silkie roo, who was supposed to be a hen. No roos allowed in my neighborhood, so he has to wear the collar, sleeps inside the house, and is feed mashed twice a day. He crows when I get up, I feed him and put him out with his girls. He only crows...

    traumatized hen

Hello, I'm having the same problem. One of my girls lost her best friend suddenly back in January to some some type of illness. I think it was ascites that I didn't catch quick enough. It's April, and since the day that happened my girl hasn't laid an egg since. She is a year old and was my best...

Fun "Social-Distancing" Things To Do With Chickens During Covid 19

How about while you're chilling with your chickens, you dig out a pool in the backyard (with your chickie's help of course), and order ducklings. I think they're excited too :). Best thread ever!

    Malnourished BO

I have a 20 week old BO(Rosebud) who has had a rough start. She had a really bad case of coccidiosis when she was 7 weeks, and pulled through it. At 12 week, she lost the use of one of her legs. I treated her for a vitamin B deficiency and again she pulled through. At 17 weeks she was weezing...

    Red Ranger Lameness?

Just my 2 cents. I had a 12 week old pullet go lame on me a few weeks ago and byc users suggested a vitamin B deficiency. I put her on vitamin B-100 complex stat. I crushed up the pill put it with some sugar water and then gave it to her through an eyedropper. I couldn't believe it, she pulled...

    Chick behavior

I don't think so. It only happens after I hold her for a long period of time though.

    Chick behavior

Hello, I am a new chicken mamma to 2, 5 week old BO and 2, 6 week old BA. Things have gone relatively smoothly and I have fallen in love with them. One of my BO is super sweet (Rosebud), and always comes to sit with me when I have the kids out for a romp. Sometimes I just take her out to sit...
