    Yellow Goop Near Eye?

Hello, One of my chickens (6-8 month old hen) has somehow developed a very peculiar glob of yellow... stuff around its eye and I'm unsure what to do about it. So far we've put a drop of human eye drops into her eye to see if that helps, but we have no idea what to do next. I've included a...

    Baby chick won't eat

Sometimes force feeding/drinking with a tiny dropper is necessary. However I would advise you to consult other possibilities before resorting to this. Also, although not eating and only drinking small amounts is definitely not a good thing, it could be stress related if the chicks were shipped...

    Not sure something is wrong

He/she just said it wasn't eating as well as the others and that it would sleep it a COMPLETELY normal way for baby chickens and from this small amount of information, you can diagnose coccidiosis? Giving vitamins is never a bad idea, I'm just not sure that it's coccidiosis... especially...

    Yellow Jackets

I'm not sure if this applies to all bees/wasps but spraying soapy water on them kills them quick ( I did this with mud wasps) . Another way would be to at night, knock the nest off into a bag quickly (I've done that before) or simply a vacuum, but if you choose the vacuum tape up the ends of it...

    Not sure something is wrong

Oh, and for more assurance, I have some babies about the same age and they do everything you've described. Just keep a watchful eye that Lara doesn't stop eating and drinking entirely.

    Not sure something is wrong

The eating and drinking is a mild concern, but as long as she is still eating and drinking some, everything should be fine. All of the other 'symptoms' seem like normal chicken behavior to me. As for the chickens pecking at each other (as long as none get seriously injured by it) it is simply...

Two Broodies with Chicks Fighting, What Should I Do?

Personally, I would wait until the chicks are big enough to either defend themselves or at least run away if they get attacked. Maybe at that point the mother hens won't be so protective as their babies will have essentially grown up.

Broody Hen - 8 Chicks Integrating

I waited roughly 6 weeks I believe. The big chickens will still pick them if they get too close, but at about that age they are more than capable of running away.

    Hens Pecking My Rooster

Well since he doesn't seem distressed about it the only thing I can think of to do is separate him from the hens for a week or two so he can get his feathers back.

Looking for paint ideas for converted shed.

Well there isn't much of a description, but just going by the title, a red with white trim on the coop always looks good as well as forest green with white trim! Beautiful chooks!

    First loss

It's unfortunate to hear, there are so many factors with the heat and all that I can't give you a definitive answer, but I can tell you that my chickens had a lot of trouble when it was in the 90's yesterday as well. I wish you the best and hope that you may experience many more fun memories...
