I just got my chicks yesterday! 5 Salmon Faverolles(straight run), 6 Buckeye pullets, and 7 Golden Comet pullets. They dont have names yet since I only plan on keeping about 6 of them. I already have a couple favorites picked out though.

I just got an order from Cackle. They had a shipment date all ready for me. And I got a call from.the post office just after 6am to come get them. They took 2 days to arrive to me in WA.
Oh and I'm not worried about overcrowding. I have a decent sized coop. 10 hens so far has been the sweet spot it seems. Not to mention their run is being overhauled and will be partially covered for more space. Right now they free range and I haven't got an egg in months!
I didn't think of black sexlinks. I was gifted one when I first got chickens but she was too old to lay. She was the dominant chicken, fighting any new cockerel or rooster while my chill polish couldn't care less lol. I guess that's why I didn't think of them since the one I had was so crazy.

That's a lot going on! Versatile birds! I don't see why people say that either. But I like the birds everyone else hates. Pigeons, seagulls, crows... :)
I promised him we would only add 1 homesteading/animal type project a year, so we shall see. I think they sound fun.
