I just realized I've never seen my ladies lay an egg. How long does it take for the egg to "pop" out? I've noticed that one or two get a little off from time to time and it always seems to be when they are getting ready to lay either a very large egg or an egg in general. Then their behaviour... -

Metzer Farms Review(s)
We got the mixed batch of ducklings from Metzer Farms. All 6 ducks arrived in good health, my sweet Pekin passed away at 8 weeks. I feel obligated to point out that we live rural up in whats considered an alpine valley in the mountains. Fed Ex overnight takes 2 - 3 business days here. LOL... -

My Khaki Campbell Soup has gone broody. She'll sit in the coop and hiss at anyone who comes and pokes their head in the doorway. We don't have any drakes, but bless her she's giving it the ole college try.- CoMtns

I work in healthcare, we get a lot of older gentlemen who have no idea what's going on. They'll just reach out and grab. 😒 Still I couldn't imagine coming home and then being humped by my duck 😭 -
Ducks attacking dog
My ducks have attacked my terrier mix and tried to have it go at my Chihuahua. Luckily nobody has been hurt, but the terrier gave the old babbity bap to the usual suspect (Hennifer Lopez) and we hoped it was a one-time incident but it happened again the very next day. They are no longer allowed... -

Drake not breeding...?
Have you tried putting out a boombox with some Barry White? I kid ! I'm absolutely useless when it comes to any serious amount of help getting ducks to breed. Good luck with the breeding hopefully he gets that lovin' feeling again. -

We didn't want any drakes , simply because we don't want any little Hennifers running around. 1 diva in our flock is quite enough! Also we were just concerned about any issues that would come up during mating season. Being first time duck owners we thought it would be way too much on our plate... -

Well this is just solidified our choice not to get a drake. It's enough to get groped at work, but I don't know that I'd want it at home too. Keep us updated on what works! -
House ducks
I love it! I would love to be able to take one or two of my girls out with me. But we are just now getting to the point where they will let me slide my hand underneath them. It's a slow process but I am making headway. -
