    Thanks everyone for the help. This morning confirmed it for me. They both were crowing back and forth at 6am. Ill have to find new homes for them. I live in town and dont want to bother my neighbors.

    You also might want to give them some time to get used to it. I made my roosts with 1x2 and at first they didnt use them. Now they roost on them no probs.

    I was guessing silkie myself but something is more than likely mixed in. The fellow we got them from has a wide assortment of hens and roos and lets them free range together. Hence, why it might be a mix. I didnt remember seeing him with any silkies but he had @ 50 chickens so its very possible...

    Corn husks

    Ive thrown a grilled cob, husk and all to mine and they just pecked the corn off and don't touch the husk. So if your asking if its ok then yes, they dont really eat it the husk.
