    Construction Sand VS Brick Sand

Any sand is ok, play sand, sand from beaches or rivers or even dried sand from your garden. Construction sand is ok as long as there are no cement or extremely tiny dust particles. I'm not too sure what you mean by brick sand, is it the red sand used to make bricks? Make sure it wont get hard...

    Incubated Baby Button Quail (HELP)

You can remove them from the incubator and put in a brooder once they are dried and fluffed... Within first 36 hours they wont eat much some chicks don't eat at all.. But when they are hungry they will start to peck everything they see. If you only got 2 chicks, make the brooder very small and...

    Very Sick Quail! Help please!

Are you trying to say that 33 C is higher than 38 C? Do you know that quails can handle any heat a human can as long they aren't harassed into flight constantly. If you provide them enough water they will have no issue in even if temperature is 45 C. They can even survive -1 C if you can provide...

Quail is nesting for sure! Have more questions

Quails we mostly find are domesticated for more than 500 years and lost the ability to make a nest and can't become sitting hens. So you would have to incubate the eggs for hatching. If you manage to catch few wild quails they might build nests. One clue: if she is incubating successfully, she...

    My Quails won't lay eggs

Quote: If I have 75 females and put one or two males, Can I get fertile eggs for incubation? Once I had 12 coturnix females and 2 males. They layed 4 - 5 eggs a day. I introduced another male, and got about 10 eggs a day. Might be some other reason, but because of that I thought you need one...

    My Quails won't lay eggs

I think the problem is with the Male Female ratio... You must have 2 males per 8 or you can try removing male for unfertilized eggs.

    pure coconut vinegar

Pure coconut vinegar (Made out of coconut toddy) is totally ok. Not the one made using chemicals which is very cheap and can be found anywhere in countries like India & Sri Lanka. Avoid white vinegar as well. I have about 75 quails and I faced the same problem of finding ACV... After doing some...

    Quail went crazy this morning

I'm not 100% sure about this breed. But if feather picking is common definitely number of males are higher than required. You can try reducing the number of males. Just keep 1 male per 7 females. If feather picking stopped and egg production reduced 1 male per 6 females, etc. until they are...

    Medicated Chicken feed for Quail.

Non medicated game bird feed is not available in my country & importing is very costly. I have been feeding medicated chicken feed 16% protein + BSF larvae so far & my quails are still doing well. Why everybody say feed non medicated food? Will this medicated food reduce the lifespan of birds?
