Thanks! Of course the pullets I could clearly identify (one a speckled sussex and one for sure a buff Orpington), are the two that didn’t make it. Have subsequently fixed up an avian net over a substantial sized yard for some aerial predator protection.
They’ve got a nice demeanor and are good layers- though one is a bit broody she’ll give us an egg here and there and isn’t too proud to come off the clutch with a little prodding.
Can anyone help me identify these hens?? I’ve had them since chicks, and they were “supposed” to be speckled Sussex (though the one I knew for sure was a Sussex sadly didn’t make it). These birds have no white speckles but have not yet molted. I have three of them - from Murray McMurray.
