one last bump... their reservation to freezer camp has been made if no one makes an offer by this weekend. They are good birds, we just don't have the room to separate them from our ducks and they are a bit aggressive to new additions to the flock.
I have 2 - 8 month old American Buff geese that need a new home. I'm asking $50 for the pair. I'm located in about an hour south of St. Louis and willing to meet within approximately a 30 minute drive. More pictures, or videos upon request.
So we started this whole flock with 5 hens and 1 drake. We lost 2 hens along the way, we added one hen later on (with two geese but that's besides the point). Right now there are 4 hens and one drake, all adults. We recently hatched 3 hens and 1 drake.
This all means that next spring we will...
I can so relate--we hatched our first eggs yesterday actually! It was extremely nerve-wracking and I'm not sure why to be completely honest. It was so worth it to watch them hatch though! I work at home, but the incubator is not in view of my desk so I actually set up a ring camera in front...

Instead we order a bunch of Rouens and had a great flock--until one of them...
Thank you!!! This is the first hatching after almost 20 years of having ducks and I feel like a nervous father pacing the waiting room with cigars in my pocket!
Thank you, I was thinking the same thing, but wasn't sure!!! But if at least one other person thinks so... then I'm going with it! :fl I really don't want to open the incubator at this point, but I'm not sure if I should leave it there either... thoughts?
We incubated our first clutch of Welsh Harlequins, and today is hatching day. :wee I woke up to a duckling fresh out of the shell and moving around quite a bit, I thought all was well, but now I'm seeing what looks like a yolk in the brooder. :barnie
I have 6 other ducklings in the incubator...
