Just an update. I put her in the kennel overnight on Thursday, she went right back to the nesting box on Friday morning. I left her back in the kennel until Sunday evening, she ran out, foraged until dark, and went to the coop like normal. So far, so good. She hasn't been back to the box since...
We all agree that this is the best thing for her? She is having a complete fit! I opened the kennel to put food in and she jumped up and scratched me with her powerful talons!!
We've locked her out of the coop in the daytime, she's been sitting in the nest all night. Tonight I blocked access to the nesting boxes, and the last straw was when she attacked everyone that tried to go to bed tonight. She's in the dog kennel now, off the ground, one roost. I hope this works...
So...without fertile eggs should I just keep taking her eggs daily until she knocks it off???? Shes my only mature hen, but I've got 9 others that should start laying this month or next??
She started Saturday, but we only have a young cockerel. I don’t think hes even attempted to mount her yet. I would probably let her try to hatch some if they were fertile? Why would she stay put with no eggs under her though??

I plan on butchering 8 CornishX next month. I plan on resting them for 3 days before freezing. My question is this...do I need to find room in my fridge, and the fridge will most likely dry out the skin. Can I place them in a cooler with ice instead? Will it damage them if I let them sit in ice...
