Your posts took me back many years ago to when I was a LandLord.
Thank God I dont have to deal with that anymore!
Jeezzs sometimes its just a struggle dealing with neighbors!
I used to have a neighbor that would cut my fence and block it up so his dog could get into my pastures.
By the way...
Quick up-date.
Last Friday eve I got home and moved our Lil Broody Hen off her nest for a couple hours. I placed an egg in her nest for her return.
Saturday mid afternoon I found she had left the nest long enough to eat and whatever.....
While she was gone another yong Hen entered the barn...
I here your pain, Last year we managed to get down to 2 hens, one Rooster. They promptly began laying eggs in the neighbors barn....next thing you know we have two hens running around with 12 & 13 lil ones. Seems on their own they can reproduce like bunnies.
(chuckle)
I chased our lil hen out...
I will probably try again to help her figure things out....but I may just give haer an egg and see what happens. I have several roosters running around so I would suppose the eggs are fertile. Good grief I would sure hate to have her sitting a egg that wasnt going to hatch...that certainly...
Ok, how do you know if your free range (wild) chickens have worms? And how do you get them to eat cyanne pepper? I dont feed these guys, except a bit of scratch they arnt much intrested in. They adore the horse manure pile and if I would let them they would clean all my stalls daily. g]

The hen that is sitting is inside our barn in a very safe place (a horse feed dish with hay...no horse) I dont blame her for wanting to stay put it has been cold and rainy outdoors.
We do move her to check if she has laid and let me tell ya she is a tough one who will take you out for messing...
Yes she does stay in the nest at night. It is apparent she wants to hatch, however there is nothing there for her to hatch. Since she has decided to stay put, the other hens have quit coming in and laying (goodness knows where they are laying now...or maybe not?)
We worry she is going to starv...
My husband and I have inherited a crew of chickens. They are what I would call free range(?) They rooste at night in our trees and run our property during the day. The hens began laying about 1-1.5 months ago. We began finding eggs at various places all around our barn. Once we found where they...
