Please say my lil Silkie will make it! :/

My sweet lil 5 mo old Silkie was caught in between the waterer and the wire fence for God knows how long. When I rescued my lil Ranger, she was lifeless but still hanging on to the last bit of life she had - breathing but not really moving. I'm nursing her back to health, or trying my best (new...

I'll definitely give that a try. Sounds like the easiest way to do it. Thank you for the info!

Can you explain more about deep litter and cold composting? I'm looking for something that is on the low maintenance end, too, so that sounds intriguing! Thanks :)

    I’m almost ready!

I can only have hens in my area, so hopefully they'll all be girls- although I already hear one rooster 🙁 I have a maltese and the big one is a greater swiss mountain dog. They aren't too sure what to think of the new additions to the fam! :)

Thank you! My husband's been working hard on it for a while. He's not finished yet, but the chicks can go outside while he's still working on it!

    I’m almost ready!

Thank you! It's not completely finished, but I think it's good enough to put the girls out there and see how they do! Yeah, I'm not sure how to clean it, honestly. This is my first chicken experience. I worry about them not being hardy enough to take the cold. Not so much now but through the night.

    I’m almost ready!

Hey there! I have 15 silkies near Dallas and we’re almost ready to transition to the wild outdoors! We’ve had a couple of field trips out, but not any long term play dates with our new coop. My questions are- 1. What needs to be on the ground in the coop? Do I need to put pine shavings? 2. I...

I am soooooo excited! I need help! 🙈

I just brought home 16 new baby Silkies (Yayayay!!!) and got the brooder set up. I think they’re cold, though. What temp range does the brooder need to be?
