That's funny because my coop they are harassing is bantams too! A little group of booted bantams. Maybe they are just super curious about the little guys?
Just seeing the replies from both of you and thinking about it, hives have a landing board on the front bottom that sticks out and I could absolutely see then messing with it. You're right, I'm not even going to try.
I can't even believe I have to ask this question but due to reputation geese have for shenanigans here goes.
Will geese harass honeybees or a wooden hive if I put one in their fenced yard? I used to keep bees in the yard and the chickens ignored them. The geese however, like to mess with stuff...
OP, sorry if I missed you saying it but is this happening during the day or overnight? If it's night time I would absolutely blame a raccoon grabbing a tail and trying to pull a chicken through the wire. If the daytime, no clue.
Ok, I just saw you were in town. What time of day?

Good idea with adding cover. I do that here with pine tree branches. It makes them feel safer and definitely avoids a lot of the head boinking when they spook.
I'm going to go alcohol injection. Thank you everyone for all of the suggestions, I think this will be something I can do confidently. After that he's going to just go in the freezer until I can start this project this winter, I'm due with a baby in 3 weeks. But I want to get the roo taken care...
I'm not really sure what you're saying here but with the pattern on quail eggs and how small they are it can be hard to see the pip. I would just leave it be. You can open the brooder and see if you can find the pip and place the egg with the pip up if you really want but the chick will most...
