    Hi, My quail also love to eat perlite from my used pot soil, which is the soil they have in their pens. But they also love crushed oysters, eggshells etc... I don't know if it's bad for them, but I don't think it is good either. I haven't seen any specific effects. Regards

    Hi! I'm testing a probable celadon male, and so far all his daughters (4) are laying normal blue celadon eggs, but then there is this exception... One lay eggs that are as blue as any celadon egg, but the spots are bigger than the normal small spots found on celadon eggs. In the photo...

    Nabiki, I agree not to keep aggressive birds... But do you take out of breeding the frightened females too? Those who are really scared of the males? I have a cage full of females who don't like males at all :-)...

    Thanks! A friend sent me some celadon eggs to hatch, and so far, at 5 weeks of age, all male are Tibetan-Tuxedo, and probably all hens are red. Looks like sex-linked breeding to me?
