Hey! I tend to give my ladies anything from the vegetable garden that's basically finished producing, other things I grow specially for them like brassicas and chard (beet greens).
I'm currently giving them French bean plants and pepper and chilli plants and fennel that's flowered.
Is there...
It's not hard, whether it's fluid I'm not sure. Her poo looks reasonably good, lovely pics attached. She's not being pecked as she's in hospital (a dog crate). No egg since yesterday morning and I've no idea when she last laid.
She's eating a bit, will eat shrimps but not cabbage or beet greens.
Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help. I have a 1 year old Marans who didn't go to roost last night, when I picked her up I noticed her belly (just below her vent) was nearly bald and swollen. She didn't like it being touched so I think it's sore.
The photo is straight after giving her a warm...
Thanks for the response.
Well, it was a smallholding group... I haven't made ACV though, I've made red wine vinegar from my own grapes, it isn't filtered and has no additives.
What I wonder is can I use this in place of ACV and will it have the same benefits or not? Will the tannin levels be...
Yep we got the Azurs for their blue eggs, I haven't heard of prairie bluebell before but maybe they're not yet available in France. I only live 1 ½ hours from Marans and they lay beautiful eggs so we really had to get some of those.
I've read that Azurs don't go broody but my 2 definitely did...
Hi all, I'm new here, obviously.
I've got 16 hens and 5 chicks (sexes yet to be determined) and I've been keeping chickens for about 2 years. My flock is mixed, 5 are rehomers, so just common or garden red hens, I've also got 1 Coucou de Rennes, 1 Grise Cendrée du Poitou, 3 Marans, 2 cross...
I asked in a FB group that other day if unfiltered homemade red wine vinegar would have the same benefits as ACV and was told it would cause liver failure. Had anybody got any thoughts or advice on this please?
