When I read your opinion I couldn't help but think of it as a sales pitch in an effort to lure others to your site which is ok. What I don't like is negativity towards Marans breeders in the US as simply breeding "Americanized Marans" and I find this statement quite bogus. I have a question...

Does crossing a Wheaten Marans Roo with a Blue Marans hen....then crossing those offspring back to Wheaten create Blue Wheaten part of the time?

I thought I would share some of my photos of my Silver Salmon Marans (Pullets/Hens) and Silver Duckwing Marans (Roos). These carry the gold gene.

The pic of the Georgia Duckwing is pretty much the same as what I have.

The Duckwing cockerels that I posted last year finally have the standard look. They just needed more time to get there.

You can create a Silver Salmon using a Birchen Marans on a Golden Salmon hen. I intend to hatch as many Silver/Golden Salmons as I can this Spring - Fall and cull out the ones that aren't French standard.

Two roosters came from Georgia via Alicia Albury to the Ohio Nationals where they were picked up. I will post a pic of the roo later when I get home. We already swapped hatching eggs.

I'm working with another breeder on the Silver Salmon hens and Duckwing Roos. He came across new bloodlines.

I'm culling excess roos and I'm a little unsure on some of these. Need opinions and thoughts please.

I would also add that I presently have BCM, Blues, and Splash in the same breeding pen. Occasionally I have Cuckoo come thru as well as Wheaten. Let it be known that my stock comes from the top known breeders.

Having Wheaten Marans coming thru a BCM/BM isn't really that bad of a thing as far as a diversified genetics go for the highly inbred Wheaten Marans. Just a thought. I see the point you made both ways.

I'm unable to ship hatching eggs outside the USA. Even if I could I'm not sure they would survive the shipping process. Do you have a hen and a rooster?
