The longer you wait the easier it is to see whats going on. I don't toss anything until day 10!
Dark blobs are a good sign, if the egg was not fertile it would be clear, red veins are kinda 50/50 but if you have a mass
with those veins it would be on the good side.
IF you paint it, make sure to use a non toxic, green based paint, it might only be 100 in the incubator, but around the heating elements it can get hot, and cause the paint to fume!

Someone one day it had a temp spike of about 104 at around day 18, had a chick peeping and died from it

cleaned the chick up free of the cornmeal, cleaned the dried blood off it as well, its pooping well, still very active, it me know after i cleaned it up that it was a little cold, checked its temp, its around 98- 100 on the hot side of the box, about 87 on the cool side of the box, its eating...
