Wow, that's a lot of hay, is it for the chickens or the goat? The chickens will need small nesting boxes to lay eggs in and a bar to roost on. Sasafrass trunks make good roosting bars, and help keep mites away. Also ramps are fine for them to go in and out. Good luck!
I would think there mama would protect them from the other hens, I have 4 week old babies that my hen hatched and the other hens just leave them alone because "Big Mama" is sooo protective. I think at this point they should be okay, do the other hens go after them?
