Sponsored Post It's HOT - Keep your birds feeling their best!

I've had a gal. size bag of garden veggies in the freezer for a while now. I can't stand the taste of frozen veggies, even if they came straight from the garden so ANYWAYS, I got that out today and took it out to some of the chickens. They looked at it like "What is THAT?" Lol, it was really...

    What breeds are we?

Mille fluer, that's right. I couldn't remember what the lady called them plus wanted to get second opinions, lol. The others I know are Bantam Cochins but not sure on the type. The daughter, not shown, has frizzle/sizzle genes. I'll post pics of the daughter when I can.

    Young roo behavior problem, GRRR

Ok, among the many chickens we have, we have 3 RIR roos. Two of which are fine but the third one keeps attacking my little duck, who is actually about the same size. The other day when the roo attacked Duckie (yea, her name is Duckie lol) he looked as though he was trying to mate her which I...

HELP, HELP I SCREWED UP.. he's still alive

Sounds like you need to put a sticky note on the bator saying "DO NOT TOUCH!!!" On a more serious note, I really hope more hatch for you. I've never hatched ducklings before but I hope somehow they will recover from the bator being opened.

    Hard boiled duck eggs?

I forgot where I read it but it was somewhere on this forum that with farm fresh eggs you should wait about 2 weeks to cook them like that, aside from it being mentioned above. So, when I know I want some deviled eggs or hard boiled I go for the "older" eggs in the fridge. Works great..... On a...

Duckling out of the brooder/ add to flock?

Yea, I was thinking once she got a little bigger and has at least some adult feathers. Right now I let her out during the day while I'm feeding everyone. They all just look at her and cock their heads, LOL. The adult ducks look at her a little curious, or like "Oh, is it one of us?" But with the...
