    Help, guidance, advice.

I am pretty new around these parts but I saw this advice given to someone else on another thread who was having similar issues (I cannot take credit for the idea, it was posted by another on the forum) but they suggested: separate the coop with a wall of chicken wire. Put your pullet safely on...

    I need your good advice

Thank you for your thoughtful reply Mrs K. Your insight was invaluable! Keeping him in rooster jail was not about ‘training’ him so much as it was about protecting the girls. That being said, your comment about the girls hanging around him was spot on. They go wherever he goes, so it became...

This is the plan. It is in construction now but I don't expect any eggs from the pullets before September or possibly October. It will be a little while before they can integrate

    I need your good advice

Hello there my chicken loving friends! I could really use some advice. I have a small flock of chickens. A little over one year ago I was given a gift of 5 chicks but one turned out to be a roo... He is a good guy. One year old and very friendly with people but unfortunately, a little shall...

I Need Help with an Overly Amorous Rooster

I have seen some pretty ugly/bloody/gory photos from people who claimed that the damage was done by a drake attempting to mate with a chicken so I think that your first response may have been correct. I believe that you were right to recommend doing more research about that issue.
