It's been 2 and a half weeks. They are a lot fluffier, and one of them is laying! I haven't got a decent photo, so here is a picture of my daughter and my dog investigating the fish pond that exists within the coup.

I know the feeling. The urge to adopt all of them is strong.

They are more colourful, and they are sprouting new feathers on their necks.

Hello from Australia! I have eggs and not much idea what to do!

I've got no advice, but that is such a lovely story. I watch with interest.

I could easily have got 7 myself, I wanted to take all of them. Are they happy and healthy these days amongst the flock?

Thanks for the encouragement and the advice, guys. They're pretty bold given their history. They keep chasing their 'guard'dog.

I actually don't know. Now I've read up on it, I'd like to find out. I'll let you know as soon as I find out. They did look pretty happy, that said, they had been rescued a week earlier, and wormed and vaccinated by their rescuers. So they had been free ranging before I got them. They cost $6.00...

Hello, My name is Chris, and I have just adopted four ex-battery hens. They have already taken to their new spacious coop. I'll post some photos along the way to track their return to looking like a healthy bird. Cheers, Chris.
