    Well, they tasted fine! Made some Tam Kha Gai - Thai coconut and chicken soup! Was great :)

    Hawk got two of my hens today, just plucked and ate the heads. I plucked and cleaned them as usual, planning on having chicken for dinner I guess! ha

    I got the mixed flock thing going on because that exactly what I'd like. Mixed breeds. I just figured she meant bantam hens can't be mated by other larger birds (physically I guess).

    Got them from a woman in Greenville. Just outside of LaGrange. She had many different types! So these are mottled then? I just remember her saying black japs...lol anyway, thought they were real cool. Got the roo so they could mate. The woman said they can't be mated with other breeds? That true?

    Got two RIRs and two Black Japs today! Neat little birds! Even though they are just chicks, the Black Japs look so funny! Short little legs, with their belly almost touching the ground...lol Attitude to boot! They don't take anything from the bigger BuffOrpington hen!
