    i got one too! and i was really bummed that i didn't video it when i cracked it open. i figured it was from my peahen... boy was i wrong! totally cool. now i have my iphone out whenever there is a funky looking egg

    they are cute in the house.. they have gotten really adventurous though, and now are cruising all over the basement (aka pooping everywhere!) i still like it because i find their little voices soothing to listen to. it will definitely be good for them to move outside. i have absolutely no idea...

    what kind of sand? i am a newbie... my ladies are almost ready to move into their coop in my barn.. (currently hanging in my basement. i kind of like hearing them talking at night, but there are 30 of them, and its getting kinda crazy!) i heard river sand/gravel - but i don't really know what...

    she started out looking like the other polish, that is a similar color. are the silkies slower to grow? she is like one of my absolute faves... would she sleep more if she were not doing ok? or is it a sign she is getting bullied? she is a little shyer than most of the others steph

    i have a flock of "feather footed fancies" from murray mcmurray and 4 little polish girls that i bought all together. they arrived mothers day. everybody was doing supeer- now one little polish is much smaller than all the other chicks. the polish are smaller in general than the other ladies...

    thanks! its tempting to just snuggle with them. i wanted to make sure we couldn't fondle them into failure to thrive .. my australian shepard peers over the top of the brooder and counts them. its hysterical. i only let her near when we can supervise. can't wait to watch her herd 30...

    i didn't know i would love them so much!!

    so i just received my new babies yesterday in time for mother's day. can not imagine that i would be this crazy about them. just afraid of what will happen if we play with them and hold them too much - any idea of limits on fondling (now) 2-3 day old baby chicks? polish and cochins...
