i got one too! and i was really bummed that i didn't video it when i cracked it open. i figured it was from my peahen... boy was i wrong! totally cool. now i have my iphone out whenever there is a funky looking egg
they are cute in the house..
they have gotten really adventurous though, and now are cruising all over the basement
(aka pooping everywhere!)
i still like it because i find their little voices soothing to listen to.
it will definitely be good for them to move outside.
i have absolutely no idea...
what kind of sand?
i am a newbie... my ladies are almost ready to move into their coop in my barn..
(currently hanging in my basement. i kind of like hearing them talking at night, but there are 30 of them, and its getting kinda crazy!)
i heard river sand/gravel - but i don't really know what...
she started out looking like the other polish, that is a similar color.
are the silkies slower to grow?
she is like one of my absolute faves...
would she sleep more if she were not doing ok?
or is it a sign she is getting bullied?
she is a little shyer than most of the others
steph
i have a flock of "feather footed fancies" from murray mcmurray and 4 little polish girls that i bought all together. they arrived mothers day.
everybody was doing supeer-
now one little polish is much smaller than all the other chicks. the polish are smaller in general than the other ladies...
that looks awesome
i am restoring the coop in the old barn on my property
would love to ask questions -
do i need heat at all if its in an enclosed barn?
i am in CT
i was thinking of putting a couple of hanging lights in the ceiling, and having 2 be with red heat bulbs.
any thoughts?
have...
thanks!
its tempting to just snuggle with them.
i wanted to make sure we couldn't fondle them into failure to thrive ..
my australian shepard peers over the top of the brooder and counts them. its hysterical.
i only let her near when we can supervise. can't wait to watch her herd 30...
so i just received my new babies yesterday in time for mother's day.
can not imagine that i would be this crazy about them.
just afraid of what will happen if we play with them and hold them too much -
any idea of limits on fondling (now) 2-3 day old baby chicks?
polish and cochins...
