What kind of roos do you have. I have RIR but need more hens want to sell eggs if I need a different breed so my grandson can go in I would get a different breed. I think it's good for him to have chores he is 4 but needs to learn to take care of his critters. He loves feeding and collecting eggs.

After the conversation with the rake man. He avoids me and doesn't come near the feed until I'm out of the pen. So for now I don't trust him and keep a eye on him until I get some chick's then he is chicken dinner.
I won't let my grandson around him anymore. Going to take a toy rake in with me and reach out and touch him if he comes at me. Maybe he will figure out who the boss is. If not dumplings will be on the menu.

Hey there Cub here in Kentucky we have had chickens for my grandson since last spring. RIR and SLW. Raise Golden Retrievers and Siberian Husky Rescue 8 dogs in all we love our grandkids and camping.
I'm new to chickens to and have spent hours on here reading. It seems crazy for them to molt at this time of year and I was concerned but have learned today its ok. Thanks for everyone's input questions you wouldn't think to ask have been covered makes it easier when you know it's ok.
