I wondering if you ever found out the problem with your girl? I have a speckled sussex with much of he same symptoms, stopped eating, not drinking, acts like she is trying to poop all the time, poop is runny, a white "egg yoke" looking drainage at her vent, acts like she's trying to doze off...

Thank you, your right as far as what I read, they actually refererd to the easter eggers as "mongrels" The reason for the purchase of these birds was all G'kid's related, and I truly believe I'm not going to be able to tell the difference in taste between a blue egg and a brown/white egg, but...

Easter Eggers I assume are run of the mill chickens that have the Ameraucana gene in them for the blue/green egg? sorta a cross breed? gonna google it and see what I get :)

When I bought the Ameracana's I also bought 4 production reds and 4 barred rocks, I was thinking this was one of the Ameracana's but maybe its a Red?

lol, well that figures to the odds, purchased 7 and this one went crazy when introduced to full grown hens, I make sure the girls are all in bed before I lock the coop run up, this one was very vocal and was the third one up the ladder, actually watched HIM jump at one of the new hens trying to...

I will post a pick of the he/she tomorrow, dark and storming outside right now, and yes do understand feed store lots..."of course their all hens" Like I said kinda new at the lingo so "straight" run may have not been the right word, they sold them as hens only.

I bought a straight run 7 Ameraucanas from the local feed store, have 29 pullets, (various breeds) all about the same age, heard a avertisement on the local radio trading post for 6 Australopes full grown and laying.. bought three of them, when I introduced the to the flock I wasnt expecting any...

Thankyou, and yes did have the same thought of entering some of the photos of the grandkids and their chickens to the calender contest, I know they would get a hoot out of seeing themselves on a calender... but the rules said no people in the pics :( I myself would enjoy seeing people interact...

Thanks for the kind words, yes its a small world, was amazed you had family that lived in Crosby! not sure yet what a "ovation" (sp) is but it sounds nice!!! lol
