My husband built it for me. I thought I could keep the current door and nesting boxes where they are. Just pondering. It's this or try and get him to make me a hoop coop which would work too
Exact same, the heat is the same. Just a different size. I did replace the pads with shavings 3 days after I got them. They just totally balk when I put yhe. Near the new one. Wondering if I put the old one under the new one they might get use to it.
I kept my chicks in the unhealed garage for 2 weeks with a smaller mhp, yesterday I moved them in a small coop in the others chicken run.
My question is that I had a larger mhp in the coop for them so they'd have more room. Last night I checked on them and they were all huddled on the other...
I am using the mhp for my new chicks, in the garage for a couple weeks than outside in a prefab coop inside the chicken run. These chicks love it! I love it! I have no idea why everyone isn't using this. You are my hero🤎
I made up a mhp, new chicks were in the garage and the temp went down to 44f..I checked during the night and they were quiet. Turned the light on this morning and they all popped out to eat. Thank you all for showing me how
She's a mix, part EE, I've just noticed it yesterday and she roosts half the time. She's at the bottom of the pecking order. Youngest and she may have bantam in her. This is the pic I posted last week. Not a good one because I was trying to get a good Pic of the rooster
I have a 21 wk pullet that I've caught sleeping in the nesting boxes, today I found some poop that looks just like the pics of coral urites. Do pullets do this before they start to lay eggs?
I'm going to give them a round if corrid to be safe but they all seem fine.
Update. Roosters are gone, older hen passed,3 younger ones,( 2 roos and one hen) still here. I am now getting 4-5 eggs a day out 6 layers even with winter being here. I want to thank everyone for easing my mind and giving me the patience.
