Suburbs. Long Island, NY. They are secured in a 40x40 area with six foot high fence. Found remains in neighbors yard, over fence. There is a strip of wooded area but it is residential.

This week I lost 5out of 6 of my chickens. Most likely a raccoon. I have one lone bird left!! I am going to reinforce everything on the coop and run. My question may be silly but is it ok to keep one chicken? I want to restock but am unsure about what to do! Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
