    My Bourbon Red pair free range, and yesterday my son came across the hen sitting on a nest of 16 eggs. He and my wife moved them into the barn into a "nest" that they put together. Not sure how long these eggs have been out there and the hen doesn't seem too interested in sitting on...

    Thanks for the help!....perhaps another photo will clarify for you, but I'm fairly certain that they are Bourbon Reds. It was a little dark in the "roosting" photo.

    Wow, so sorry!..we picked up our pair yesterday (tom and hen red bourbons), and they spent the night in an empty horse stall....I think Im going to wire that up so that they can just stay there at night...there are a lot of Coyotes here that would love an early thanksgiving,

    Thanks!...not sure just yet.....I have a 6-stall barn and I'll be turning one of the corner stalls in to a coop. I've been waiting on spring to tackle that, then decide what breeds.
