Oh. I guess that would be a good piece of info. I live in north central Kentucky. Along the Ohio River. The winter here is normally not to bad, but this year we had several days of near zero temps.
I have read some literature that suggest facing your coop to the south in order to utilize the warming effects of the sun during the cool winter months. Where I live the wind direction, on average, blows south to north. This would seem to be good in the hot summer months, but not so much...

I find a lot of used stainless steel sinks for sale and thought they might make an interesting set of nesting boxes for the new coop. Has anyone tried this? Are there any risks involved? I realize they would need to be cleaned really well before installing.
Hello everyone. This is our first adventure into chicken life. My wife said she was out on this one, so it's just myself and our 6 year old daughter. We'll bring her (mom) around to this adventure before long. Looking forward to lots of good times and great advice.
