I name everything according to the mood I am in at the time. My daughter said I had to name the chickens she and her son so graciously leave us for Christmas. We have 4 chickens, Breakfast, Dinner, Supper and Dessert. Breakfast is a Buff Orpington hen, Dinner and supper, distinguishable because of leg diameter, the ? Roosters, and Dessert is the ? Isbar mix. My daughter thought the names were awful. I explained they are not pets to me, and I was already thinking about their futures...
The naming system leaves room for more. There is always a future Lunch, Brunch, Snack, Appetizer....
I stay in trouble......

- I have a grandson that decided that my wife and I should have chickens. After much argument, he and my wife won, and now we have chickens! I had free range chickens growing up, but there are too many varmints around here for that. I am repurposing an old kids wooden playset into what I hope will be a tractor. Your site gives good ideas.
