New chicken mom here 
Started with 6 laying hens in March. Lost 2 for a fox and had to provide care for 2 wounded ones. That made me research everything I could possibly research about chickens. One had a bad wound and I learn how to properly care for it.
I then added 8 chicks to my flock in April and in May I got a beautiful roo to be the man of the house.
In August I got 2 more laying hens and I’m looking forward to expand my chicken empire!
