Unfortunately they did pass away yesterday…they seemed to be doing okay for about 24 hours and then declined quickly…I found another post with the same results…not sure why mama duck opened and pushed this guy out but nature knows best :)
Hi all!! I’ve hatched numerous times with an incubator and have not had this issue. However, my female duck has been sitting on some eggs and they hatched finally! However one duckling was hatched with the yolk sack still attached and Mama was pushing the baby out of the cage (or trying to help...
I have way too many drakes to females right now 😂 I’m trying to sever my emotional bonds with the more active drakes because my ratio is almost half and half after the last hatch. They get separate time during the day when they don’t break through the fencing but have been housed together at...
The hens and drakes are housed together, I’ve been renovating their coop so starting tonight they will be housed separately as usual…mine don’t look as out as your picture.
I’m wondering if overlaying has caused this issue, I have found 3 females with this issue. 2 look more like swollen rings...
Good morning I have two female mag pies both under two years old so far have been exhibiting normal behaviours… however I noticed both females have what looks to be a massive haemorrhoid outside the butt or a prolapsed anus? (Poop seems to be normal liquid white - normal bathroom tendencies)

Should I anticipate this smell as coming from one of the eggs? I honestly can’t tell as all eggs have movement so what should I look for?
could it just smell weird from running dry?
Okay, so I put 5 duck eggs in my incubator (Amazon purchase worked great two summers ago so no worries about machine quality) I just didn’t check the water in the incubator for 16 days!!
I filled the tray with water day 1 when I incubated them…but I honestly completely forgot as these were...
Any ideas on what kind of toxin/infection would cause this kind of event? Especially if orally ingested I’ll want to make sure it was nothing the other ducks can access…I haven’t seen any odd metal or plants they can eat.
And if this happened 5 days ago would I have seen symptoms in the other...
Thank you! I had a pekin who went broody last summer, I decided to let her go naturally but yes it took a lot out of her…how would I break the broodiness if this continues?
Hello!
I have a beautiful Rouen lady who is starting to become broody….
She’s been laying for a couple weeks now, she’s a first time layer, she shares the coop with 7 other ladies…
She’s sitting and guarding an empty next now for about 20 minutes (I collect the eggs daily)
I would let her...
Forget to mention that I touched nothing in the picture, that is how the bedding was as well, I didn’t pick up any feathers. It looks the worlds most peaceful fight if it was one…he stayed inside the coop periodically the previous day but I hadn’t noticed any “I’m sick” signs
Hi!
I initially didn’t attach pictures because I wasn’t sure it was allowed…
This is the exact pose I found Meeko in, I figured attack (or maybe now accident) because his back looks like my females when they get laid too much it’s just pushed around a lot…
I personally thought his neck...
I knew I would have to work on my ratio (I was hoping not like this)
If it was toxin or infection what should I look for in my other ducks? Just odd behaviour? I’ve have these ducks for about 2 years now and haven’t faced a big disease yet, knock on wood I don’t
