    Try getting some mite dust and fully dusting all chickens. Then try petroleum jelly and cover the entire leg. Try to keep it covered in it to suffocate the mites. When the mites get into the leg, they are really hard to get rid of. If they cripple the bird, about the only way to get rid of them...

    My vet said that treating with the sulfa drugs (or sulfadimethoxine) for coccidia is fine for older chickens too.     Any inflamation? Feel real well around joints, the hocks, crop area, and under the belly. Compare both sides of the body-- if there is inflamation I had the same problem. PM me for details if it applies.

    They are porcelain d'Uccle bantams. Basically a variation of Mille Fleur d'Uccle, but they just don't seem to be as common. They are cream/lt blue colored.
