    I feed them hen house reserve, have oyster shells in the coop along with pecking block. I give them scratch once a week for fun, and they eat oats out of my hand once a week...what else should I do?

    My friend raises chickens and she pyurchased eggs from an auction in April. They were not a specific breed but a mixture. There were some pricey pullets that came out of it.

    Curiosity question about determining roos

    I have a friend who raises chickens and swears if you pick up a chicken and the feet, don't both raise up that it's a rooster. But, if you pick up a chicken and one leg goes up, and the other 1 stays straight, it's a hen, is there any truth to this?
