    Would adding chicks be dangerous for the chicks? She's by no means an aggressive hen since she has always been on the bottom pecking order, but wouldn't that change? As for solo pets, could you elaborate more on how that would be possible and how to best do it?

    What chicken run material should I use?

    I live in North Carolina and I'm doing major upgrades to the chicken coop. I was wondering which material is best for the chickens whilst keeping the smell down for the neighbors. Locally I have mulch, hardwood mulch, a type of wood mulch but much thicker and river sand. The run is not covered.

    i dont know if she is molting specifically but out of the 5 i have one of them is molting and there is a noticeable egg production decrease. She seems very lethargic though so could there be something else?

    Hello all I witnessed my 2 year old hen just drop a yolk from the roost in front of me. Its 7:30 pm and I'm not sure if I should be super concerned? Can someone explain what happened and if I need to take action.
