I have a couple chickens I hatched from the this hen and roo and they come out looking a lot like barred rocks so it made me wonder what they both may be.

I've heard that in winter that metal is not nice to their feet. I would use the plastic bottom just covering it with wood shavings to keep it from being too slick on their feet.

I had the Easter Egger pretty well figured out. The only chick that I'm reasonably certain is a rooster is one of hers would love for him to be a her just because he is marked so beautifully. I can't vent sex chicks yet so I am having to wait for secondary indicators to show themselves.
