    First rain of season

    We live in Oregon and it's been raining all day. I have a spot for the chickens to go under cover under the coop some of them have been hanging out there throughout the day. But they are drenched! I don't want them to get sick. Will they be ok?

    I would say pullet. Only because the buff in my pic is a rooster. It's 1 month old and comb is turning red. I also noticed Spurs today.

    It's hard to see the color of the comb with the red lamp. Can you take a pic with natural light? We moved our chicks outside about 9-10 weeks but it was spring.     Not against eating it. Part of life, just wanted it to have more of a life. I think I found a home for it. We live in the city limits other wise I would keep it. My friend that has chickens lives outside the city limits and plenty of hens for him to chase around.

    Broken leg?

    It's at her hip/thigh joint. I was reading other posts about broke legs. And it fits her pretty well. Leg is limp and foot is curled up and unable to use.

    I think it's dislocated or broken. From what I can feel. What now? This is my very skiddish chicken. So she is prob already pretty traumatized. :(

    I have a large dog crate. But it's too big to fit in the coop. I don't have baby aspirin but I do have children's Tylenol and ibuprofen. I'll have to grab some aspirin in the morning. I feel like it's something to do with her hip/leg because she will not put any pressure on it.
