    Greetings from BC, Canada!!

Hi there, I'm curious where you got your Lohmann Brown hen. They seem pretty rare in Canada, especially on the West Coast, so any info you can share would be welcome. Cheers Drew

It doesn't hurt to ask. I'm a really good baker as well and I got my first scion wood from a local orchard by trading an apple pie for a bunch of scion wood. The orchard owner even gave me the apples to use in the pie! :) I'm sure you'll be able to find something in Ontario but, if all else...

If you know people who grow apple varieties you like, ask them if you can cut scions from their trees when the trees are dormant (Mid Nov-Mar). I have purchased scion wood, but I generally try to gather it far and wide and share it with whoever wants it. You can't have trees shipped out west...

    Not so "newbie"

Thanks for the welcome. Happy to be here. The cold is just starting to set in here in South Western Canada. Things look to be about 10 degrees warmer in Tennessee. Lucky you!

Thanks for the welcome! I know, that photo is of a friend's son and his chicken. It's great, isn't it? :)

Started with Rhode Island Reds about 6 years ago, then Buff Orpingtons and then Light Sussex and mixed breeds. Currently have a dozen Light Sussex and Buff Orp/LS crosses. Looking to try some Lohman Browns if anyone in British Columbia has any.
